Welcome Sign at Cooper Creek ParkWelcome to Roeland Park

Dear Resident:

Welcome to Roeland Park!  Our small community is filled with opportunities for recreation, education, and commerce.  We are a gateway to Johnson County and a gateway to the future.  Many improvements and developments will be happening in the next few years that will make an even greater quality of life.  As your city government, you have our pledge to provide you with first rate services.

Check out RoeFest, Nall Park, the Roeland Park Aquatic Center, The Sports Dome, and our new skateboard park for the beginner to intermediates. Did you know we are a Tree City, USA with the No. 1 tree foliage coverage in the State.

Included with this letter, are a number of brochures to help better acquaint you with our community and to help guide you through some of the questions you may have as a new resident.  If, after looking through the brochures, you still have questions, please feel free to contact the citizens’ advocate, Debra Mootz, at City Hall or any of the elected officials.  As part of our continued efforts to stay in communication with our citizens, we publish a quarterly newsletter free to all Roeland Park residents. A calendar of meetings and events is also published in the newsletter to help you stay better connected with your new hometown.

I look forward to a conversation with you.

 Mayor Steve Petrehn
