The City of Roeland Park is chartered under Kansas
statute as a City of the Second Class, and it operates as a
Mayor/Council/ Administrator form of government. The mayor
is elected at-large and serves a four-year term. Two
councilmembers are elected from each of the city's four
wards and serve staggered four-year terms.
As a legislative

local laws, the adoption of the annual City Budget and
Capital Improvement Program, and the review and adoption of
proposed policies, agreements, contracts and other City
business items. The City Council generally meets on the
first and third Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the
Council Chambers at City Hall.
Any person wishing to address
the City Council on any matter, whether or not it appears on
the agenda, may request to do so under the "Business from The
Floor" portion of the agenda. Individuals are encouraged to
complete a Request
to Speak Form prior to the meeting. Forms are also
available at the meeting.
