Common Code Violations

These are the most frequent code violations that citizens inquire about or report to us:

  • Excessive weed growth/tall grass

  • House exterior needs painting or repair

  • Inoperable/unlicensed vehicles

  • Trash in yard

  • Overgrown shrubs or trees

  • Unlawful parking of recreation vehicles/trailer/boats

  • Parking on lawn

  • Accumulation of trash & debris

  • Dilapidated or damaged structures

  • Construction projects without permits

  • Dead trees and shrubs

  • Unlawful storage of boats and RV’s

 

Reporting Possible Code Violations:

When you see what you think is a property maintenance code violation, you have more than one option:

  1. Talk to your neighbor. Most neighbors will appreciate being notified of a problem so it can be corrected before a complaint is registered.

  2. If this does not resolve the problem, contact the Code Enforcement Officer 913/722-2600 ext 208 or
