The George Schlegel Gallery, located on the second floor of Roeland Park City Hall is pleased to feature the art of Sol Anzorena a new member to the Roeland Park community. She is married to Tom Grotewohl, a teacher and musician who grew up in Roeland Park. Due to issues with Covid-19 they had to stop traveling and are now living in Roeland Park after many months traveling around the world creating art and music.
Sol was born in Argentina but grew up in Spain. She and Tom lived in Spain and traveled the world painting murals in different parts of the world. They have some fascinating stories to tell. Now that she is here, she would like to make some beautiful murals for her neighbors.
You can see fresh, delightful examples of Sol’s watercolor paintings in her exhibit in the George Schlegel Gallery during office hours of RP City Hall, 4600 West 51st Street, Monday through Friday, 8 am till 5 pm. The exhibit will be on view March and April.
"These last years have been very fruitful for my work. My efforts to demonstrate that human beings are part of the nature that we incorrectly see as alien, are being rewarded with the awakening of many people on these issues that concern us all. Now is the time to passionately address all environmental problems. It is time to fight for the necessary changes, so that our planet is a place where equality reigns for all beings." Sol Anzorena
